Install WarpSpeed on Ubuntu

Your own WireGuard VPN on Ubuntu 20.04 or later

  1. Start with a fresh server

Any Ubuntu server with a public IP address works, from a cloud instance to a box in a closet with port forwarding.

  2. Run the installer

Sign in as a user with sudo and run the installer, which installs WireGuard and opens the ports in ufw when it is on.

curl -fsSL https://warpspeedvpn.net/install.sh | sudo bash
  3. Claim your server

Open the setup link the installer prints, choose a name, and set your password.

Ubuntu's kernel ships the WireGuard module, so nothing needs compiling.

Cloud firewalls sit outside the server, so open the ports there as well.
