Install WarpSpeed on Oracle Cloud
A WireGuard VPN on an OCI compute instance, Ampere included
-
Create an instance
Create a compute instance from the Canonical Ubuntu 24.04 image with a public IPv4 address.
-
Open the security list
In the subnet's security list, add ingress rules from 0.0.0.0/0 for TCP 80, TCP 443, and UDP 51820.
-
Open the instance firewall
Oracle's Ubuntu images reject new connections in iptables, so allow the ports there too and save them.
sudo iptables -I INPUT 6 -p tcp --dport 80 -j ACCEPT sudo iptables -I INPUT 6 -p tcp --dport 443 -j ACCEPT sudo iptables -I INPUT 6 -p udp --dport 51820 -j ACCEPT sudo netfilter-persistent save -
Run the installer
Still signed in as ubuntu, run the installer.
curl -fsSL https://warpspeedvpn.net/install.sh | sudo bash -
Claim your server
Open the setup link the installer prints, choose a name, and set your password.
The installer checks the ports from the internet, so it tells you at once if a rule is missing.
